Sometimes life doesn’t go as planned. In homeschooling, a lot of life doesn’t go as planned. Take, for instance, this past week. When it was time to get our homeschool room ready, our youngest child had some breathing problems, and needed to be taken to urgent care. My husband took a few days off and we just spent our time loving on our kids. Last year, I think something like this would have thrown me off, but since we are leaning heavily on living books this year, I’m able to place my worries where they matter. His breathing has since resolved itself, but I’m thankful I don’t feel pressure to mark off chapters in a textbook, when there are more important things to tend to. We’ve since started working on our room but at a slower pace. All of a sudden it’s no longer on the top of the list and I’m thankful for these moments that God uses to show me what’s really important in home life.
This by the way, is his typical face. I love it!
