Note: I was given a free Raddish Kids subscription box to review but am not an affiliate nor am I receiving compensation.
A few months ago I attended the Great Homeschool Convention. While I was there I stumbled upon Raddish Kids. I had never heard of them before GHC, but their booth was super cute so I was intrigued. After asking a few questions I learned it was a subscription based service to get you and your kids cooking. My kids love to make and bake but I’m pretty lousy at finding kid friendly recipes. For this reason, the box of recipes just showing up at my door is a huge plus! (Not to mention how much children love getting packages in the mail!) After the convention I contacted Raddish to let them know I loved their product and would be doing a review when I ordered. The owner was kind enough to let me try out a box before committing. (That was great considering I’m skeptical of anything subscription based.) When the box finally arrived, the kids and I were super excited to get started.
We learned that the boxes are themed which I thought was really cool. This month’s theme was Campfire Kitchen. Since we’re going camping in a couple weeks, we decided to make the the Happy Granola recipe and save the others for when we go. The recipe was very kid and parent friendly, but what I really liked about making the recipe, was how it brought us together in a fun way. While I like to try and keep all our learning interesting, sometimes I wish we could “just be”. This made that possible. I didn’t have to search online for the perfect recipe or for how we could incorporate our learning. Everything was in the box. The recipes, discussion cards, and cute facts about the recipes. This made it easy to gather all the ingredients and just go.
So what came inside the box? One eating utensil to use while camping, three recipe cards loaded with fun activities and information, one set of “table talk” cards, an experiment card, and a badge. All of the cards are thick and laminated so you don’t have to worry about your kiddos messing them up. This month’s experiment is a solar oven made out of the box which the kids can’t wait to do when we go camping.
I can’t wait for our next box to come or for us to make the rest of the recipes next week! Hopefully I’ll be able to take pictures when we do. The box is packed with ideas and recipes and I’m happy to say that Raddish was kind enough to offer 25% off your first box with either a 3, 6, or 12 month subscription with the code MARLO! Yippee!
